POP MART Australia attends SMASH! Anime Convention in Sydney
On 20th and 21st July, POP MART Australia participated in the SMASH! 2024 (short from “Sydney Manga and Anime Show 2024”) at ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre, a famous yearly anime convention in Australia.
Samson Su, Marketing Manager of POP MART Australia and New Zealand, said, “After attending Oz Comic-Con last year, we’ve found that the exhibition is a great platform for us to interact with our fans. Hence, we prepared a great deal of exclusive offers and fun games for SMASH! this year, and we had so much fun with old and new friends over the weekend.”
Four limited-edition figurines were launched on 20 July, including Azura Dark Soul, Hands in Factory Lil’tie, LiLiOS On the Road 365 and PUCKY Ink Flower. Meanwhile, three kinds of gifts were available for different purchase thresholds. Among them, the LABUBU Rubbing Print was popular amongst fans due to its fun printing experience on site.
Besides the limited-edition figurines and exciting gifts, POP MART Australia also brought back several popular items, such as THE MONSTERS Exciting Macaron Vinyl Face blind box series and MEGA Royal Molly 1000% & 400% Van Gogh Museum Almond Blossom. Four new items also made their Australian debut at the convention, including Star Wars Series Figures.
The serial offers and the diversified characters displayed attracted long queues at the POP MART stand on both days. The art toys at the stand also became popular shooting background for various cosplayers. From original characters to the familiar faces of several western franchises, such as Garfield, customers could find their favourites at POP MART.
Due to the increasing popularity, POP MART Australia was also invited to stage a 15 minutes’ show at the centre of the convention. After a vivid presentation of some popular characters at POP MART, audiences were invited to enter a small quiz to answer related questions for winning a prize, which resulted in waves of enthusiasm and fun on site.
“We are impressed by the creativity and vibes brought by everyone on site these two days. We will continue to attend suitable conventions in Australia in future, hoping we can bring more surprises and fun to our fans next time.” Samson shared.
Since entering the Australian market in 2021, POP MART has rapidly expanded its footprint, establishing a strong presence across key cities like Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. As part of its broader global vision, the brand is committed to fostering cultural exchange through art toys, bringing innovative designs and creative experiences to consumers.
